Trained by us.
Led by us.
Backed by us.
At Drain Fixers, your job is not passed from a sales desk to a mystery subcontractor. It is handled by an in-house team trained through our system, led by our own operational leaders, and backed by directors who stay close to the work and stand behind the result.

The Four-year Pathway is the Story.
Most companies hand a new apprentice a van and hope for the best. Every person who works on your property has spent four years learning our methods before they lead a job – not handed it.
Big enough to fix it properly.
Small enough to care.
YEAR 1
Learn the foundations
Safety, site setup, customer care, diagnostics, equipment, drain behaviour and the habits that make a job clean from the start.
YEAR 2
Work beside senior trades
Apprentices learn relining preparation, cleaning, measurements, materials and quality checks beside experienced leaders.
YEAR 3
Take supervised responsibility
More ownership on site, clearer customer communication, problem solving and repeatable job standards under supervision.
YEAR 4
Lead to the standard
By the time someone leads a Drain Fixers job, they have been trained in our methods, our standards and our way of treating customers.
Not Just a Team Photo - a Quality System.
This isn’t a lineup of names for the page to look credible. Every process you see below is owned and enforced by the same leadership team, on every single job.
We build the team our way
People are brought in young, trained through the company and taught the behaviours expected on every job.
The leaders know the work
Operational leaders understand the job because they have come through the field, not just the office.
No contractor hand-off
Relining stays with our own experienced team, so the standard does not change after the quote is accepted.
Clear ownership start to finish
From inspection to clean-up, the customer knows which company owns the outcome.
A Lot of Companies Can Sell a Relining Job. The Difference is Who Actually Turns Up.
Choosing a relining company isn’t just about the quote. It’s about knowing who will arrive on site, complete the work, and stand behind the result.
Drain Fixers In-House Relining Team
- The work is completed by our own trained team.
- Relining stays in-house with people who do this work every week.
- Everyone is trained to the same process, language and finish standard.
- The same company owns the outcome from inspection to handover.
Typical Outsourced Relining Model
- The job may be sold by one person and completed by another crew.
- Specialist work can be passed to subcontractors after the customer signs.
- Quality can vary depending on which crew turns up.
- Accountability can become unclear if something needs follow-up.
Leadership With a Human Side
Three of our leaders came up through our own four-year training pathway. The fourth runs the business that makes it possible. They’re good at what they do – and they genuinely care how every job ends up.
Ben Baines
General Operations Manager
Running a crew, training the next apprentices, and protecting the standard so every job runs the right way every day.
OFF THE CLOCK
Camping with mates around a fire, a cracking AFL game, and tinkering with whatever needs fixing - usually a dirt bike or a car. Hawks supporter.
From Mooroolbark. Was the youngest person in Victoria to have a knee reconstruction at age 9 - kept building things ever since.
“If you’re gonna do it, do it properly. A good job is one where I drive away knowing I’d do it exactly the same way again.”
Louis Schofield
Civil Manager / Director
Our relining method, in-house training, and the trickiest field jobs the team brings him.
OFF THE CLOCK
Sailing, surfing, dirt biking, rock climbing, kite boarding, fishing, beer brewing — pick one and Louis has done it. Once trained for a career in professional sailing.
From Williamstown. The team calls him the relining nerd, and he takes it as a compliment.
“We pride ourselves in being able to undertake the relining installs that most reliners would walk away from.”
Charlie Hewitson
Civil Operations Manager
Scheduling civil jobs, picking the right crew for each one, and making sure customers walk away glad they called us.
OFF THE CLOCK
Saturday is golf at 8, beers by 2. Sunday is watching his brothers play footy and walking the dog through Heathmont.
A good job is one where I walk away proud, and the customer was happy we were the ones fixing their drain.
“From Heathmont. Don’t let the look fool you - Charlie’s been buried in relining knowledge since 2020.”
Tim Derham
General Manager / Director
Customer enquiries, quoting, supplier relationships and the day-to-day running of the business.
OFF THE CLOCK
Sailing, friends and a great coffee - usually all three on a weekend at the beach.
From Melbourne. The team would say he’s known for obsessive attention to the details customers notice - and the ones they don’t.
“Prior planning prevents poor performance. Customers choose Drain Fixers because we deliver what we promise.”
Big Enough to Fix It Properly. Small Enough to Care.
