Why Choose A Drain Specialist Over A General Plumber?

We Just Do Drains!

Your General Plumber needs to know a little bit about everything to do with plumbing such as gas, hot water, burst pipes, leaks, roofing, guttering and kitchen/bathroom fixtures just to name a few.

Our team of drain specialists are all highly trained in everything to do with drains and sewer:

  • Blocked Drains
  • Excavation And Pipe Replacement
  • Pipe Relining
  • Drain Inspections and Location

Using equipment made especially for drainage professionals, we can identify the problem, clear the blockage, and provide you with the most cost-effective way to find a permanent solution.

Our Process

  • Find The Problem

Using the latest drain CCTV inspection equipment and pipe locators, we can quickly locate the blockage and determine the best way to clear the obstruction quickly and efficiently.

  • Unblock The Drain

In most cases, High-Pressure Water Jetting (HPWJ) provides the quickest and most effective way to clear the blockage. While sewer ‘snakes’ have been around for many years, HPWJ quickly remove tree roots and other obstructions while cleaning the inside of the pipe to ensure free flowing drains.

  • Find The Cause

Once the blockage is removed, our CCTV camera allows us to provide a detailed condition report on both the cause and the overall condition of the drain. This allows you to make an informed decision on whether your drain requires further work to prevent any further blockages and inconvenience.

  • Replace Or Reline

Depending on the condition of your drain, we can provide you with expert advice on whether further works are recommended. Should you decide to proceed, a detailed quote can be provided with all repairs are carried out by our experienced drainage plumbers.

Sometimes we find that the blockage is in the Water Authority Asset which is not the responsibility of the homeowner. In this instance, it may be possible to claim a full or partial refund once cleared and verified by the relevant Water Authority. We will still require payment at the time of service.

While the homeowner is usually responsible for the cost of maintaining and clearing drains and sewers, unless the owner or Real Estate Agent booked us directly, you are still required to cover the cost at the time of service. You may be able to obtain reimbursement from the Agent or Landlord depending on the cause of the blockage. Foreign objects or excessive paper are normally the renter’s responsibility.

In some cases, sewer drains can be shared between two or more properties. This can be verified by purchasing a Property Sewer Plan from the relevant authority. As a rule, if the damaged or blocked section of the pipe has more than one property running through it, the cost is shared. Using CCTV and pipe location equipment, we will be able to verify whether this is the case when onsite. We will still require payment from the person who booked our service upon completion. You may be able to seek a partial refund from your neighbours once the exact location of the blockage is determined.

Blockages in the stormwater drains are generally harder to clear because often, the drain has been damaged for some time and the blockage is not as obvious as sewer. We also find that in some cases, we are unable to clear the blockage due to the pipe damage and it will require excavation and repair. Using CCTV and pipe location equipment, we can determine the cause of the blockage, locate the problem, and provide you a quote to fix the problem as quickly and cheaply as possible.

For stormwater drains, if your pipe runs into the street, you are still responsible for maintenance and repairs up to the point where it joins with the Council drain.

For sewer drains, in general, blockages found outside your property are the responsibility of the relevant Water Authority, but this usually needs to be verified by a licensed plumber before they will attend. You may be eligible for a full or partial refund should this be confirmed.

For sewer and internal drains, the common warning signs inside the house are toilets that don’t flush properly (either slow to drain or gurgling); sinks and showers that don’t drain properly, or sometimes just a bad smell around the drains. Another warning sign that your sewer is blocked is signs of a spill along the outside of your house or at an inspection point along the fence line.

For stormwater drains, you should look for pooling water or flooding at low points on the property, and overflowing gutters or downpipes around the house or garage.

We service drains and sewers for residential and commercial properties including shops, factories, offices, restaurants, cafes, and offices. Please call our office on 1800 652 834 for more details.

In many cases, relining is easier, more efficient, and significantly cheaper than excavation. You also avoid the mess and disturbance associated with a large hole being dug in your garden. The product has the same warranty as a drain replacement and is generally stronger than PVC pipe with fewer joins.

In some instances, it is not possible to reline. This can be due to many factors including pipe collapse, significant displacement, accessibility, etc. The only real way to determine the most cost-effective and permanent solution to your drain repair is with a thorough drain inspection using CCTV.
